Govt will complete peace process: PM Khana

KATHMANDU, APR 14 – Kantipur Post
Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal on Thursday said his “government with a mission” will complete the statute writing and peace processes. He, however, did not elaborate.

“The government has been formed with a special mission and it will complete it successfully,” Khanal told reporters at a ‘tea party’ he organised at his residence.

On the Home Ministry portfolio issue, Khanal said, “The Home Ministry is with the government and will be allocated as per the need.”

The prime minister also said he will expand the Cabinet by inducting the major political parties represented in the Constituent Assembly.

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Vice-President Paramananda Jha, Speaker Subas Nembang, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Cabinet members, lawmakers and Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood were present at the reception.

Interestingly, senior UML leaders KP Sharma Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal stayed away from the function.

Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and NC parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Poudel were also absent.
