Dusit sets its sights on Chinese market

Dusit International shifts its focus to the Chinese market with plans of opening a Regional Sales Office (RSO) in Shanghai, a Development Office in Hong Kong, and launching a Chinese language version of its website.

Jennifer Cronin, vice president, Sales and Marketing, Dusit International, was quoted in Travel Daily Asia as having said that China has been one of the fastest growing markets in terms of visitor numbers to our Dusit properties in Thailand, Manila and Dubai in the past few years. Cronin added that the number of Chinese visitors to their hotels and resorts, particularly from the MICE and leisure group segments, has been increasing reaching four percent last year.

The planned RSO in Shanghai is set to open by July 1 this year and the Hong Kong Development office by May 1. The opening of the two facilities is in line with the group’s launch of its first hotel in China, Dusit Thani Sanya, which will open in 2012.
