United and Continental enhance customer travel experience

United Continental Holdings, Inc announced a series of changes to provide a more consistent travel experience for customers on United Airlines and Continental Airlines. These changes, many were first introduced in the Chicago O’ Hare International Airport, are in line with the efforts to fully integrate the two carriers.

Jeff Smisek, president and CEO, United, was quoted as having said that the alignment of airport procedures, particularly for most of their loyal customers, and the rebranding of their operations at their home airport are the newest signs of the successful integration of United and Continental. Smisek added that they are making significant progress as they create the world’s leading airline, and customers are experiencing more of these benefits as they travel.

The changes to be implemented at airports across the airlines’ global network over the next several months include more seamless self-service capabilities, new Premier Access airport services, new Mileage Plus and OnePass features and benefits, consistent airport experience, new Choice Menu onboard, aligned policies and procedures, new airport signage and rebranding, and single channels in social media.
