Cathay Pacific joins forces with Swire Hotels

Cathay Pacific has enlisted Hong Kong-based Swire hotels to join in its ‘FLY Greener’ carbon offsetting programme.

Through this programme, Marco Polo Club members on a Cathay Pacific or Dragonair flight and stays at a Swire Hotels property will be able to offset the carbon emissions from their inbound journey, starting June 1. It will be initially implemented at The Opposite House in Beijing and The Upper House in Hong Kong. Swire Hotels will acquire carbon offsets from Fly Greener as a means to support environmental projects in China.

Cathay Pacific’s Head of Environmental Affairs, Mark Watson, was quoted in Travel Daily Asia as having said that they recognise the vital contribution made by their loyal customers in supporting not only their business, but also their ongoing sustainability efforts.
