Hawaiian Starts Daily Osaka Flights

Hawaiian Airlines launched daily service between Honolulu and Osaka, Japan. The airline celebrated the launch of its new route by treating inaugural flight passengers to performances of Hawaiian music, hula and Japanese cultural dance honoring the beauty of Osaka.

Hawaiian Airlines President and CEO Mark Dunkerley was quoted in eTurbo News as having said that the demand for their services in Japan has returned to pre-tsunami levels. Dunkerley added that this new daily service reflects their confidence in the Japan market and in the important Kansai region in particular.

The airlines’ daily non-stop service from Osaka adds an estimated 100,000 new air seats annually to Hawaii from Japan. The new service also helps Hawaii’s visitor industry and economy.
