Starwood to Open More Spas in Asia

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has unveiled plans of expanding its portfolio of hotel spas in their Sheraton and Westin properties in Asia and Middle East. Sheraton is set to open 10 spas this year and Westin will add six.

The Shine Spa for Sheraton will be launched at the Sheraton Yantai Golden Beach Resort, Sheraton Guangzhou Hotel, Sheraton Beijing Dongcheng Hotel, and Sheraton Qingyuan Resort as well five other properties across Asia. The wellness brand is also set to open at the Sheraton Baku Airport Hotel in Azerbaijan this year. The Heavenly Spa by Westin, on the other hand, will open at The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Soa as well as four hotels across China including The Westin Wuhan Wuchang. Starwood Director of Global Spa Development & Operations Jeremy McCarthy was quoted in Travel Daily Asia as having said that the Heavenly Spa by Westin and Shine Spa for Sheraton concepts are extensions of the individual brand philosophies and the success of their signature branded spa experiences which is driving demand for continued expansion, especially in key global emerging markets.
