International Arrivals are up for Indonesia

Indonesia received 3,597,632 visitors in the first half of 2011. The Central Board of Statistics of Indonesia (BPS) indicated a 6.42% increase compared to the visitor arrivals over the same period last year.

 

Bali drew the majority of the visitors, reporting 1,303,609 arrivals in the first half of the year. The Bali Statistics Agency (BPS Bali) reports that this showed a 10.56% increase over the 1,180,118 visitors recorded during the same period last year. BPS Bali head, I Gede Suarsa, was quoted in TTG Asia as having said that Australia showed a significant growth in arrivals, the highest among the top ten markets. Australia is followed by China with 106,400 visitors, and Malaysia with 83,491 visitors.
