Singapore Airlines and Virgin Australia Partnership Take Effect

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Virgin Australia now offer reciprocal lounge access to their customers. This new development is in line with the two airlines’ new partnership.

The new partnership also enables SIA passengers to connect to Australian destinations served by Virgin Australia using one ticket, with terminal transfer, in-flight entertainment and meals included. SIA Executive Vice President Commercial, Mak Swee Wah, was quoted in eTravel Blackboard New Zealand as having said that from now on customers can experience the first benefits of this landmark agreement with Virgin Australia, in line with their shared plans for a deep and integrated alliance providing seamless service offerings.

The two airlines have also submitted an application to the ACCC for code-sharing on each other’s flights. This is now subject to regulatory approval and is expected to take effect later this year.
